TikTok has released its first TikTok Shop Safety Report, highlighting its commitment to platform safety.

TikTok reported that more than 500,000 merchants were selling to US users on its app at the end of 2023, more than double the number from three months earlier, as the video service stepped up its e-commerce effort.

Key points from the report for July-December 2023:

    As it grows, TikTok Shop is struggling with an influx of low-quality and counterfeit products. And while revenue rose from $261m to $349m between October and December 2023, sales stagnated between January and February 2024.
