STUMP BEZOS

Per Drewry’s World Container Index, what does it cost right now to ship a 40-foot container from Shanghai to New York?

💰 THE TYLENOL PLAY: 1 PRODUCT 3 LISTINGS

Tylenol PM, Tylenol Migraine, Tylenol Extra Strength. Largely the same product. Each box is aimed at one problem, and each one sells to a person who would have walked past a generic bottle of "pain reliever."

That example came up on a recent BDSC group call, and it's the cleanest version of something Kevin walked members through on his monthly chat: stop making one listing carry every reason to buy.

On Amazon: split the angle, not the product

If your product serves two strongly different use cases, that's two ASINs. A water bottle for runners and a water bottle for breastfeeding moms. A magnesium balm for marathoners and the same balm for women dealing with menopause.

Different photos, different bullets, different keywords, and every word on each listing aimed at one buyer. Conversion goes up because nothing on the page is for someone else.

Amazon prefers different packaging for separate ASINs. The workaround most sellers use is the "packaging may vary" disclaimer with a sticker on the product matching the angle.

Keep it disciplined. Test your top two or three angles. Don't end up managing 15 listings of the same thing.

Compete against yourself

Mary Harcourt sells a pro-grade $500 USA-made eyelash light and kept losing shoppers to knockoffs. So she launched a $70 "cheap" version under her own brand to catch that buyer, then upgrades them through an insert card with a discount code on the real thing.

Kevin's team at Dragon.Fish builds multiple landing pages per product, one per pain point, because a page that answers one question is what search engines and AI assistants cite. Same product, same domain, different buyer on every page.

You can build these yourself with Claude on the $20 plan. Kevin's recipe:

  1. Feed it the URLs of five to ten landing pages whose style you like, your Amazon listing link, your logo, brand colors, and product images.

  2. Talk to it in plain English. "Make the buttons orange" works.

  3. Tell it: no JavaScript to display content. JavaScript for styling only, so crawlers can read the page.

  4. Have it add schema (JSON-LD) in the header.

  5. Name the file after the problem, like /magnesium-balm-for-runners.html.

Page rules: the first 70 words are the whole game. Crawlers read the top, skim the middle, read the bottom, so lead with the answer.

Add five to fifteen FAQs that kill objections, not filler. One product, one goal, one call to action per page. Never mix products.

Hosting is cheap. A domain through Cloudflare runs about $10 a year, and Bluehost or HostGator will host all of your pages on one domain. Then submit the URL to Google and Bing directly (search "submit website to Google"). AI assistants ride those crawlers, so expect to show up in AI answers within one to two weeks.

Finding the angles

If you don't know your pain points, AnswerThePublic.com does. Enter your URL (best) or a keyword. It shows what people type into search engines, social platforms, shopping sites, and AI tools about your category.

The free tier gives you a couple of runs. Focus on the entries flagged "C" for commercial intent and skip the purely informational ones. The best commercial question becomes a page title and its first 70 words.

Kevin's full walkthrough, plus the email flow teardown and the oversized-product launch resources from the same call, are in the Billion Dollar Sellers Club, where members get the monthly chat live and a library of replays behind it.

🛠️ BDSN SOFTWARE TOOL of the DAY 🛠️

Buyers are asking ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini “what’s the best [your category]?” before they ever hit the Amazon search bar. Do those answers mention you, or your competitor? Most brands have no idea.

Conductor, an enterprise SEO platform, will tell you for free. Drop in your website URL and a work email, and it sends you an AI Search Performance Report with four things worth knowing:

  • AI Market Share. How often AI names your brand versus the competition.

  • Funnel Visibility. Where you show up by intent: education prompts, recommendation prompts, and so on.

  • Your Top Content. The exact pages on your site AI is already citing. Those are the pages to protect and expand.

  • Brand Sentiment. Whether AI talks about you in a positive or negative light.

How to run it: go to conductor.com/free-tools/ai-visibility, enter your URL and email, click Submit, then open the “Access Your Report” email from Conductor.

Two caveats. You need a real brand site; an Amazon-only brand gets thin results. And AI answers change from run to run, so treat it as a snapshot, not a scoreboard. Still, for a two-minute check on a question that will matter in quarter 4, it’s hard to beat.

🚀 MAKE YOUR AI INFLUENCER HANG OUT WITH REAL PEOPLE

Human influencers still beat AI influencers on engagement. But there’s a simple fix that closes the gap: put your AI influencer in a scene with a real person.

What the research found
Researchers analyzed 9,500+ AI influencer posts and ran 4 experiments:

  • Only 15% of AI influencer posts show them interacting with anyone

  • Posts with a real interaction get 20.7% more engagement, about 290 more likes or comments

  • Shoppers are up to 17.5% more likely to pick the product when the AI influencer is engaging with a real human

When it works and when it doesn’t

  • Works even better for less human-looking characters, like anime-style avatars

  • Does nothing if the person is just standing nearby. It has to be a real interaction.

  • Does nothing if the interaction is with another AI character

Why it works
People know AI can’t actually use your product. That kills trust. Showing it doing normal human things with real people makes it feel more authentic.

Example: rozy.gram
This Korean AI influencer has 160K+ Instagram followers, but most posts are solo shots.

Easy upgrades:

  • Show her making coffee for someone or shopping with a friend

  • Add text overlays calling out what she’s doing

  • Lean into tech and innovative products, where AI influencers actually outsell humans

How to use it
Promoting fitness wear with an AI creator? Don’t post it alone on a track. Show it going for a run with a real person.

Caveats: It’s unclear if other human touches, like speech, emotion or live video, have the same effect. And in some niches, like fantasy video games, looking artificial may actually help.
